On this week’s Desert Entertainment, we shine a spotlight on a deeply moving production and a vibrant lineup of performances across the Coachella Valley.
Stacey Fraser, Director of the AIDS Quilt Songbook at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert campus, joined the show to discuss the upcoming performance on Friday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at the Indian Wells Theater. The program features 20 songs and poems inspired by stories of those affected by HIV/AIDS, performed by a mix of professional artists, CSUSB students, and alumni.
Fraser calls it “a beautiful thing to share” and recalls the songbook’s roots in the early 1990s at Lincoln Center, with her own connection dating back to her young artist days at Tanglewood. Tickets and info are available at music.csusb.edu
